Power: Phra Kring is a famous Buddha amulet in Thailand. Believed to fulfill wishes of prayer, bring wealth, prosperity, progression, safety and peacefulness as well as used to make holy water to cure illness and drive out the inauspicious.
The term "Phra Kring" refers to a Buddha amulet that has a metal ball inside, producing a clinking sound when it moves, which is believed to bring good luck.
People believe Phra Kring can cure illness. In the reign of King Rama III, there was the spreading of cholera that killed many Thai people. Somdej Phrawannarat (LP Daeng) abbot of Wat Suthat, Bangkok blessed Phra Kring amulet in the water and gave out water to people. People who drank that water (including LP Daeng) could get over cholera.
About LP Khantee:
A guru monk of today is Luang Por Khantee, abbot of Wat Pa Muang Khai, Loei Province. LP Khantee is one of many respectable monks of Northeastern Thailand such as LP Mun Phurithatto, Ubon Ratchathani Province, LP Kamdee of Wat Phapu, Loei Province and LP Chob of Wat Pa Sammanusorn, Loei Province.
LP Khantee was born on 12 October 2486 BE (1943 CE) in Khon Kaen Province. Ordained as a Buddhist monk at age 21 in his hometown. One year after ordination, LP Khantee followed LP Kamdee and studied dharma and meditation with LP Kamdee at Wat Phapu, Loei Province. Later, moved to Wat Pa Sammanusorn, Loei Province to look after LP Chob because LP Chob had paralysis. LP Khantee is a disciple of both LP Kamdee and LP Chob. Nowadays, LP Khantee still follows the moral path of his teachers although they are already dead.
Wat Pa Santitham (formerly named Wat Pa Huay Duea), Loei Province is the first temple where LP Khantee led people to build and he had been an abbot there for 25 years. After that moved to Wat Pa Nong Saeng in Udon Thani Province and Wat Tham Kong Pen in Nong Bua Lamphu Province. The last temple LP Khantee went to stay is Wat Pa Muang Khai, Loei Province where he has lived since then. In fact, Wat Pa Muang Khai was built by LP Chob. After LP Chob passed away, this temple had a few monk. So as a disciple, LP Khantee came to carry on Wat Pa Muang Khai from LP Chob.
LP Khantee is well-behaved and highly respected by people in Loei. He always teaches people to do good deeds especially his motto “What goes around comes around.” He also develops Wat Pa Muang Khai very well. Now, Wat Pa Muang Khai is a good dharma retreat and there is the museum displaying stuff of LP Chob.
