Phra Upakut is a very famous Phra A-Ra-Hunt in Indian. The record showed that Phra Upakut appear after Lord Buddha pass away 200 year. Phra Upakut was born on a rich family in magula village. There are three kids in his family. He is the youngest. He would become a monk because his father has made a promise that if he has a son he will let him become a monk, but his two brothers were not willing to be a monk so the responsibility was committed to him. At first, he didn’t accept father’s request. He just wanted to be a normal businessman. One day, Phra Upakut took care of the store, it’s unusual lots of customer at that day. It’s all because of Phra Upakut ’s luck. And at the same day the master who promised with his father came to visit him. He told some Buddha stories to Phra Upakut and he heard with ecstasy. Master thought Phra Upakut has destiny with Buddha. So he mentioned the promise. And on that day, he decided to become a monk. He made an effort to study Buddha scripture after he ordained as a monk. He even became a teacher who teaches Buddha scripture. He had 18000 disciples, is a teacher who had largest disciples. Then he practiced to have the ability to move arbitrarily everywhere; he can go anywhere he wanted to. So he is the first Buddha apprentice with magic Buddhist powers. Besides the ability to move, he can also make animals stop acting or sit on the water. Thai people believed that Phra Upakut was the topmost monk to worship. It was believed that Phra Upakut can help the owner from danger, evil forces, negative energy and all obstacles. Also, this great Buddha is especially powerful for business success, wealth, and a peaceful life. Phra Upakut is one of the Buddhist saints who is great for protection and luck. Phra Upakut is a disciple of Phra Maha Katsapa.
History of Wat Chanasongkram:
Wat Chanasongkram was built since Ayutthaya’s period that this temple is one old temple in Thailand. Moreover, Wat Chanasongkram is royal temple. In addition, LP Ngoen of Wat Bang Klan ordained and studied the meditation from this temple.
