However, it is important to note that the power and significance of these amulets lie in the faith and belief of the individual.

Mahathat Temple, Sukhothai Province

Wat Mahathat is located in the middle of the city. It is the most important temple. It is like the royal temple of Sukhothai. Inside the temple there are many historical sites, including the main pagoda, viharn, mandapa, chapel (church), and as many as 200 pagodas.

The main pagoda of the temple It is a chedi in the shape of a Khao Bin bush. or shaped like a lotus bud which is a pagoda style that is unique to Sukhothai art especially Surrounding the main chedi are 8 subordinate chedi: the chedi on the four sides (directions) are castle-shaped chedi in the Sukhothai style. Influenced by Khmer art and has stucco patterns influenced by Lankan art. As for the chedi at the four corners, it is a castle-shaped chedi with five peaks. with the influence of Bagan-Hariphunchai-Lanna art. Around the main chedi there are stucco statues of disciples in Anchuli pose walking around the Phra Mahathat.
