For this topic, the historian stressed that Phra Pathom Chedi is not the oldest pagoda of Suwanna Phoom but it is Phra Mahathat Luang in the Tawaravadee era for many reasons, especially the discovery of the older pagoda than Phra Thom Chedi that even the Khom or Lawa Rat at that time we call Khom and the word “Thom” for Khom means Large that is for the words that Luang which we call Nakorn Thom that Phra Nakorn Luang in the same reasons.
Furthermore, the bone of King Rama VI was in the fundamental of Phra Ruang Rojana Rit, Phra Pathom Chedi, Nakhon Pathom Province and the fundamental of Phra Phuttha Chinnasri, Wat Bawornnivesviharn according to the command of King. About Phra Ruang Rojanarit
Wat Phra Pathom Chedi also has "Phra Ruang Rojanarit”, the sacred Buddha image of Nakhon Pathom widely respected and worshipped by Buddhists. The full name is "Phra Ruang Rojanarit Sri Indrathit Thanmophat Maha Vajiravudh Rajabhochani Bophit” according to the royal command dated 12 October 1923. However, it is commonly called "Luang Pho Phra Ruang” or "Phra Ruang Rojanarit”.
It is a Sukhothai-styled Buddha image in the attitude of persuading the relatives not to quarrel, made of brass, weight 60 kilograms, height 6 meters and 4 inches, standing on the lotus-shaped metal brass base. The image depicts Buddha with a long face, uneven hands, and feet, opening the palm, raising and stretching out the right hand, the bulgy abdomen, and facing the north side.
When King Rama VI was an heir, he went to visit the northern Provinces in 1908 and witnessed many ancient Buddha statues. But there was one particular statue at Si Satchanalai District (Sukhothai) beautifully made but too damaged. There were only the head, the hands, and the feet left.
