Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

Purpose: Wat Phlapphla is in the process of building an ordination hall, but at a loss. So thought to ask for Luang Pho Kasem's prestige. Asked to make coins and powder amulets for building the Church of Wat Phlapphla and Luang Pho Kasem gave permission. Built as desired on August 20, 1974, Wat Phlapphla by Luang Pho Phra Kru Sirinthakhun, the abbot, has built 3 items.
1. LP Kasem Medal made of gold, silver, nawaloha and copper.
2. LP Kasem Amulet made of holy powder
3. Phra Pidta Khemago

Ceremony: When it was completed, it was brought up to Luang Por Kasemmon on October 5, 1974 at 7:39 p.m. at Trilak Cemetery. In this mantra ceremony, there was a wonderful event that Phrakru Sirindhorn recorded as follows:
On the chanted day it was night. The north is out of rain. It's time for Luang Pho Kasem to walk out of his cubicle. Upon arriving at the thatched pavilion (thatched grass), perform a consecrated ceremony. The committee and I and everyone present heard the sound of thunder. Lampang people therefore named this batch of amulets as the Fa Lan version. Nowadays, the old Lampang people still remember the name of the Fa Lan version.

In addition to Luang Por Kasem Sek as the last one, the temple also held a grand jubilee ceremony. A large number of guru monks attended the ceremony as follows:

The Biography of LP Kasem:
LP Kasem Kamago was born on 28 November 1912. LP Kasem was the descendant of Lampang's King from the Lanna Period. In 1923, LP Kasem was ordained as a monk (Buat Nah Fai) for a short period, as a way of merit making for the dead his uncle, the abbot of Wat BunYeun. In 1925, LP Kasem was novice at the age of 15 at Wat Bun Yeun for studying Dharma until the age of 21 when he was finally ordained as a monk. LP studied Pali language at Wat SeTuWan, Wat Seelom and Wat Bunyawaht. He passed his Pali examination with good results. After he entered monkhood, Luang Por Kasem went to Chiangrai temple, Lampang Province to further his Pali studies. He met Krapah Gaen, a very famous monk in North Thailand who was a Tudong monk (forest monk), very good in Sammahdti. LP Kasem became a disciple of Krapah Gaen and went Tudong with his teacher in forests and cementries. When the abbot of Wat Bunyeun passed away, Pra Dtomkum became the new abbot. After some time, Pra Dtomkum left the temple and the post of abbot at Wat Bunyeun because of boredom.
The villagers invited LP Kasem to be the new abbot of Wat Bunyeun. LP Kasem continues his learning in Dhamma and Sammahdti practice even when he was the abbot. The more he trained, the more realized that life is uncertain. His duties as the abbot, kept him rather busy and finally in 1949, he left Wat Bunyeun, and went to stay at Sasahn Sahlahwangthan (a cemetery at another place in Lampang).
LP Kasem was determined to practice the highest Sammahdti at the cemetery. He would sit in front of the burial place and watch the burning of corpse. Whether in hot sun or raining, LP would just sit quietly and watched the corpse being burned to spiritual powder. LP ever sat in Sammahdti for as long as 3 months, without shelter under hot sun or heavy rain. Even his robes were wet by the rain or during cold season, when the cold wind blows, LP would just sit quietly and not complain and asked for anything. LP had let go of everything and steadfast in his practice of Dhamma and Sammahdti. LP was known to go without food for 49 days. Since 1971, LP Kasem only bathed once a year, but there is no stench or foul Odour from his body, even his sweat was pouring under the hot sun. More surprisingly, without pillow and mosquito net, LP never suffered a bite from mosquito at the cemetery. LP Kasem carried nothing with him. His only possession was an alms bowl, his robe, which he was wearing, and a piece of human bone for him to practice Sammahdti.
LP Kasem passed away on 15 January BE2539 (CE1996) at the hospital in Lampang Province at the age of 85 years.
