Biography about LP Luang , Wat Kiri Su Banpot, Lampang Province:
LP Luang was a former abbot of Wat Pa Samran Niwat, Lampang Province.
LP Luang was famous guru monk who passed away. A lot of people admire and respect him. LP Luang was born on the 27th February 1921 in Sakonnakorn Province. When he was 22, he got ordained at Wat Sri Rattanaram in Sakonnakorn Province.
After ordination, LP Luang set his heart on dharma and meditation. He met LP Mun and LP Mun taught him dharma. He went on a pilgrimage to the forest in order to practice meditation intensively. By this reason, he met skilled pilgrim monks such as LP Onn, LP Kao, LP Fun, etc. and learnt dharma from them.
After that, he went on a pilgrimage to the north. In Lampang Province, he found the good place for meditation and established Wat Kiri Su Banpot. LP Luang was the head who built the biggest Phra Nak Prok Statue in Thailand which is located at Wat Samakki Boonyaram (Wat Kiri Su Banpot), Lampang Province.
LP Luang passed away on Monday the 14th July 2003 at the age of 82. After cremation, pieces of LP Luang bones become gems. People believe the cause of that is the goodness power of LP Luang.
