Power: Rahu is a name of a black giant deity who appears in Buddhist legend. In Thailand, Rahu is known very well as an amulet and a statue. People believe to worship Rahu will make the worshipper lucky, wealthy and successful in everything. Moreover, Rahu can drive out bad luck and bad things from the worshipper’s life.

For Your Information: Rahu is an important deity to all of us because Rahu influences our fortune. According to astrology, we all came from different planets. 7 days are 7 planets: Sunday/ Sun, Monday/Moon, Tuesday/Mars, Wednesday/ Mercury, Thursday/ Jupiter, Friday/ Venus, Saturday/Saturn. Not only them, but there is also Dao Rahoo, astrological imaginary planet in that orbits around our planets. Astrologers say Rahu planet will influence the planet it moves to. It says once angels gathered in the ceremony of making immortal water. Rahu also came, but hid himself in the clouds. After hearing, Lord Vishnu was angry and went to punish Rahu by throwing the rowel to Rahoo. The rowel cut Rahu in half, but Rahu had already drunk the immortal water, so his upper part had become immortal since then.

According to the story, every time when Rahu saw the sun and the moon, he would eat them with revenge that they told Lord Vishnu causing him half body. With heat of the sun and power of the moon, Rahu could not eat them, but only swallowed and then spat out. This action is well-known as Solar Eclipse and Lunar Eclipse.

About the Guru Monk:
LP NooIn of Wat PahPutTaMongKong, Kalasin Province was born on 18 January 1936 CE Now he is 78 years old. He has been an expert of concentration of mindfulness in Buddhism way. LP NooIn learnt from Phra Ajarn Si Ton who is a top guru monk of Meditation (Vipassana) as well as studied magic from LP Paang and Phra Ajarn Dum. LP NooIn went also called "Tudong" in the deep jungle alone. "Tudong" is a pilgrimage or monk's journey to gain knowledge to build up good Karmic and to know the teaching of Buddha. LP NooIn is very famous guru monk from Southeast of Thailand. Amulets of LP NooIn are well-known among amulet collectors.
The place built this temple was a cemetery in the past. LP NooIn moved to this temple to help LP SomBoon who was abbot of this temple at that time. LP NooIn has been developed the temple until an abbot of PahPutTaMongKong passed away. Then, people invited LP NooIn to become abbot of PahPutTaMongKong.
