Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

From : Wat Phra Si Mahathat, the most important
temple in Phitsanulok Province (1357).

Phra Phutthachinnarat is considered the most beautiful Buddha image in Thailand. The large Sukhothai-style bronze statue was cast in 1357 by the order of King Maha Thamma Racha I of Sukhothai. The statue’s unique feature is the flame-like halo –a symbol of spiritual radiance. In 1931, King Ekatotsarot
(King Naresuan’s younger brother) commanded a gold coating of the image.

Buddha Image -Posture (Back of a pendant):
"Pang UM Baatr, holding the alms-bowl.

This Buddha pendant is match to a person who
was born on Wednesday (Daytime).

Benefit : Brings Good Luck and Protection.

The day of birth is also a central element of Thai astrology and fortune-telling. Everybody knows their day of birth and people may pay particular respect to Buddha images matching their day of birth.
