Power: Kwai Tanu (a magic buffalo) is related to Thai lifestyle that relies on agriculture. In the past, people created buffalo as talisman for a hunter whose job was risky to protect himself from invisible danger.
Kwai Tanu is created to fight against bad spirits and black magic done by bad people. So, having Kwai Tanu will keep you and your house safe from bad spirits, black magic and also thieves that will fear and run away for lives.
Moreover, it is believed to prevent fire and thunderbolt and bring good luck and wealth. Having it when selling, will attract customers as well. This is why Kwai Tanu has been existed in Thai belief for a long time.
WORSHIP GUIDANCE: After receiving Kwai Tanu , first, we have to tell a guardian spirit in the place to open way for Kwai Tanu by lighting 16 joss sticks and say with your native language (if no joss sticks, you can say only). Every day, offer a glass of clean drinking water and grass. Kwai Tanu must be placed below Buddhas, monks, deities and hermits. Kwai Tanu can be at the same level of Prai (spirits).
