Name: Coconut Shell (Kala Ta Diaw Kae) Carved Rahu Amulet
From: Wat Both, Ang Thong Province
Origin: Thailand
Year: 2560 BE (2017 CE)
Material:Made of “Kala Ta Diaw” a sacred coconut shell which has one hollow on its head. Old Thai people believe it can bring good luck, wealth and safety from bad things.
Power: This amulet is doubly magically powerful with holy material and Rahuthe great deity.

Belief about Rahoo:
Rahoo, the half-body black giant deity in posture of swallowing the moon is widely worshiped for good luck, success and wealth in Thailand. Rahuswallowing the moon is called “RahuOm Chan”, the same word for the phenomenon “lunar eclipse”. People believe Rahoo’s strength is influential to people’s destiny, so worshiping Rahuwill reduce bad affectations that may happen when changing to a new year.
