Story of Phra Upakut
Phra Upakut was an enlightened disciple of Buddha after Buddha passed away for 200 years ago. Before Phra Uppha got ordained, he was a successful merchant. After ordination, he set his heart on meditation and dharma of Buddha. Finally, he was enlightened. He taught meditation and Buddha’s teachings. He had 18,000 disciples. He also had supernatural power. He liked to do meditation under the ocean. Other legend says that Phra Upakut had the undersea magic castle where he hibernated and had many sea creatures as his followers.
