***MatChaNu is a name of a character in the Indian epic Ramayana who is a son of Hanuman and a mermaid named “Nang SuPhanMatCha”. MatChaNu has a body like a monkey but he has a tail like a fish. People believe MatChaNu or a monkey amulet can protect them from dangers and accidents and make them invulnerable. MatChaNu also appears as a tattoo. Some Thai people go to a guru monk or a guru master to have a tattoo of MatChaNu on their bodies. People also believe that owning MatChaNu will bring merit, good luck and success to the owner as well as increase the merit of the authority.
