The Biography of LP Phu:
“LP Phu” or “LP Phu JanThaSaro” or “Phra Kru ThamMaNuKul” was a guru monk, contemporary with Somdej TohPhrommaRangSri of Wat RaKhangKhoSiTaRam. LP Phu used to go on pilgrim with Somdej Toh and LP Yai (his elder brother).
LP Phu was born in BE 2373 (CE1830) in Tak Province. He got ordained as a novice at the age of 9 at Wat ThaKhoi and as a monk at the age of 21 at the same temple.
In BE 2416 (CE 1873), there was outbreak of cholera, LP Phu cured people by his magic and knowledge of medicine and made those people recover from this terrible pandemic disease.
After that, LP Phu moved to Wat InThaRaWiHan and became an abbot here in BE 2435 (CE 1892) and King Rama the Fifth appointed LP Phu as “Phra Kru ThamMaNuKul.
LP Phu passed away on Saturday the 6th May BE 2476 (CE 1933) at the age of 104 and for 83 years in monkhood.
