The History of Wat Prapathom Jedi:
Phra Pathom Jedi or the former name was Phra Thom Jedi is the Mahathat Luang of land of Suwanna Phum . The feature is like the up side down of O or the lemon in half and believes that it is the first pagoda of Suwanna Phum .
For this topic, the historian stressed that Phra Pathom Jedi is not the oldest pagoda of Suwanna Phum but it is Phra Mahathat Luang in the Tawaravadee era for many reasons, especially the discovery of the older pagoda than Phra Thom Jedi that even the Khom or Lawa Rat at that time we call Khom and the word “Thom” for Khom means Large that is for the words that Luang which we call Nakorn Thom that Phra Nakorn Luang in the same reasons.

Furthermore, the bone of King Rama VI was in the fundamental of Phra Ruang Rojana Rit, Phra Pathom Jedi, Nakhon Pathom Province and the fundamental of Phra Phuttha Chinnasri, Wat Bawornnivesviharn according to the command of King. Later in BE 2529, the King Rama IX has commanded to change the bone of King Rama VI to the fundamental of Phra Ruang Rojana Rit.
