Legend of Phra Rahoo:
In Hindu mythology, Rahuis the snake that swallows sun or moon causing eclipses. Rahuis one of Navagrahas (nine planets) in Vedic astrology.
According to legend, during Samudra manthan, asura Rahudrank some of divine nectar. But Sun and Moon saw Rahudrank divine nectar. Therefore, Sun and Moon complained Vishnu. After that, Vishnu threw a discus to cut off Phra Rahoo’s head. However, the head of Phra Rahuis immortal because the powerful of divine nectar. It is believed that the immortal head occasionally swallows Sun or Moon, causing eclipses. Then, Sun or Moon passes through the opening at neck, ending eclipse.
The legend of creation of Phra Rahuis that two hermits created Phra Rahoo. One of them was penance in the cave on Nantakhate Mountain. Both of them created magical drawing and magic words in order to sanctify Phra Rahuamulet. One of hermits created magical drawing and magic words of Suriyabuppa (eclipse of sun period) to sanctify Phra Rahuwhich taking sun in his mouth. The Biography of Ajarn Kom:
Ajarn Kom is very famous in magical mystery. He was studied magical knowledge from many famous instructors in Thailand. Ajarn Kom learned magic under his uncle until the age of 19 when was finally ordained as a monk at Wat Wat BangKung. Ajarn Kom eventually was to become the close disciple of LP Sanga who was a famous in herb medicine and magical amulet knowledge. At the same time, he whet or “Tudong” pass Wat PhraTanDongRung, Kanchanaburi Province. He met Ajarn Keiw who has reputation for his Visha (Magic). Besides being a disciple of LP SaNgan, Ajarn Kom had also learnt Visha from an Ajahn Keiw in Kanchanaburi Province. He was an ordained a monk for 7 month and then, he leaved the monkshood. After that, Ajarn Kom wanted to study magic charms for protecting himself from the dangerous elements of the region. He commenced studies spiritual tattoos or Yant composition from Kruba SeeViChai’s magic book.
