History of Chao Mae Soi Dok Mak:
Thai people believe Chao Mae Soi Dok Mak was a princess of China that the king of China sent her to marry with Phra Jao Sai Nam Phueng who was the king of Ayutthaya kingdom. When Chao Mae Soi Dok Mak arrived to Ayutthaya kingdom, there were many government officials waited to welcome but Phra Jao Sai Nam Phueng didn’t go to welcome her. Therefore, she said if Phra Jao Sai Nam Phueng must welcome her by himself if not she will stay only in ship. When, Phra Jao Sai Nam Phueng met Chao Mae Soi Dok Mak, he complained Chao Mae Soi Dok Mak: “if you want to stay on the ship, you should live in the ship”
When Chao Mae Soi Dok Mak heard that, she felt very sad and suicide herself.
The history of Wat Phananchueng:
Wat Phananchueng is an old temple before building Krung Sri Ayuthaya. There is no evidence who is builder. According to the legend books say that Phra Jao Sai Nam Phueng is a builder and names that “Wat Jao Phra Nang Chueng.”
In Krung Sri Ayuthaya era, Somdej Phra Narae Suan Maharaj , this temple was fixed once and was rebuilt in many King, especially King RamaV had allowed to rebuilt all at BE 2397 and named the Buddha as “Phra Trai Ratanayok”
In the reign of King RamaV, there were fire two times on this temple on BE2444 and rebuilt successfully on BE2494.
Both Thai and Chinese people pay a lot of respect of this Buddha so much until now.
In the middle of October, there are Tink Gra Jad festival and Namassakarn annually.
