LP Chuang abbot of Wat KuanPunTaRarm, Phatthalung Province was born in 1926. Now he is 81 year old. He has been an expert of concentration of mindfulness in Buddhism way. He has knowledge of Visha (Magic) and has been studied the art of making efficacious amulets from many guru monks of Wat KowOo. Also, LP Chuang was close disciple of old abbot of Wat KuanPunTaRarm who has knowledge in both Dharma and Visha (magic). LP Chuang has deep knowledge of Visha and is highly respected in South of Thailand. LP Chuang’s amulets are very popular among Thai amulets collectors.
Wat Khao Or has more than 120 year history of making good Amulets. Most of the believer’s considered that the Amulets carry protective powers. Regarding to the “Nang Kwak” story, It is thought that Nang Kwak originally evolved from the Hindu Goddess Parvathi, the daughter of the mountains, who it was said was the first to grow rice.
In Thailand she is a spirit supposed to bring money in the household. Its statue represents a woman in Thai traditional clothes, sitting on her knees with the right hand up and the hand making the gesture to bring money to her-self. Thai people like to have this statue in their home or their shop.
This Mae Nang Kwak is dressed in traditional Thai dress. In her right hand is beckoning Thai style – palm down and a money bag on her lap. She is either beckoning customers to come into the store or asking for wealth to come her way.
