Power: Si Hoo Ha Ta (4 Ears 5 Eyes): The mythical creature known as Maeng Si-Hoo-Ha-Ta, or the Four Ears and Five Eyes Critter, is believed to exist in the North of Thailand. According to the local folklore, this bear-like creature ate burning coal and subsequently excreted gold nuggets.
In Hindu mythology, the deity Indra transformed into a creature called 'Si Hoo Ha Ta' or 'Thep In', which had four ears and five eyes, in order to assist humans. In Thailand, 'Thep In' is the name of a popular monster amulet, particularly known in the northern part of the country. It is believed that possessing this amulet brings luck, enhances business success, promotes peace, converts bad luck into good luck, and grants the owner's desires.
The Story of Si Hoo Ha Ta:
Once upon a time, there was a family of beggars consisting of a father, mother, and son. Sadly, the mother passed away, followed by the father. Before his death, the father instructed his son to bury his body and retrieve his skull when it eventually disintegrates. The father also advised his son to roll the skull on the ground, set up a trap where it comes to rest, and bring home any trapped animal to feed upon. The father believed that a trapped animal would bring good fortune. The son faithfully carried out his father's instructions after his passing.
One day, the son managed to trap a peculiar creature that resembled a gorilla with four ears and five eyes. Curious and hungry, the son brought the creature home and ignited a bonfire. To his astonishment, the creature ate the red charcoal in front of him and transformed it into gold feces. The son collected the gold and soon his garden overflowed with riches.
One day, the son learned that the king was seeking a suitable husband for his daughter, but it proved to be a difficult task. The king challenged all the men in the town, declaring that he would grant his daughter's hand in marriage to the man who could construct a gold gutter leading to the castle. Everyone failed to meet the challenge, except for the son. He utilized the gold feces from the creature to build the gutter and successfully married the princess as he had hoped.
However, the king grew suspicious and wanted to know how his son-in-law acquired the gold. The king confronted the son, who confessed everything. In response, the king and his guards attempted to capture the creature. Frightened, the creature escaped and disappeared into a cave, never to be seen again.
