Feature: Buddha with ray around head on the front side. The backside carries Phra Mae Torranee (Mother Earth).

Year: BE2543 (CE2000)

Purpose: Phra Ajarn Samuphat Mongkolsongko who pioneered Wat Sab Lamyai is a close disciple of LP Guay and devoted himself as student of LP Moon.

Phra Ajarn Samuphat Mongkolsongko created Phra Somdej Waek Man using style of LP Guay in order to raise funds to build the pavilion “Sala Thoed Phrakiat” at Wat Sab Lamyai.

Power: Phra Somdej Waek Man LP Guay is very famous in Thailand for many great powers especially wealth, luck, protection and removing obstacles.

“Waek Man ” means to open the curtain implying that Buddha’s power will clear up all obstructions from life to be prompt for approaching luckiness and success. Not only eliminating problems and obstacles, Phra Somdej Waek Man will also protect owner from harm and dangers.


Phra Mae Torranee her posture of wringing her soaked hair. This posture came from the event that when Buddha was doing meditation in order to be enlightened, God of Evil came and tried to stop Buddha by building the great fire. So, when the Land Goddess saw, she wrung her soaked hair to extinguish the fire. Finally, God of Evil lost.

Thai people believe Phra Mae Torranee (The Mother of Earth) can bring peacefulness, safety, good luck, good things and prosperity.
