The Biography of LP Sim, Wat Thamphaplong, Chiangmai Province:
LP Sim was born on the 26th November 1909 in Sakonnakorn Province. His parents were Mr. San and Mrs. Singkham Wongkhemma. He had 10 siblings and he was the fifth son. At the age of 17, he asked his parents for novice ordination and got ordained on the 8thJuly 1926 at Wat Srirattanaram, Sakonnakorn Province. Three years passed, he got ordained as a monk on the 16thJuly 1929 at Wat Janthrawat, Khonkaen Province. His name in monkhood was “PhutThaJaRo”. After his ordination, he followed LP Sing to stay at Wat Pawiwektham (Wat Pabanlaonga), Chiangmai Province.
LP Sim practiced meditation with many skilled monks until he fully understood in meditation. He established Wat Santitham in Chiangmai Province on the 13thJanuary 1949. In 1960, LP Sim wanted to practice meditation in very silent place, so he chose “PhaPlong Cave” in Chiangmai Province. He stayed there until he passed away on the 14th August 1992 at the age of 82.
