Power: Phra Kring is a famous Buddha amulet in Thailand. Believed to fulfill wishes of prayer, bring wealth, prosperity, progression, safety and peacefulness as well as used to make holy water to cure illness and drive out the inauspicious.
The name “Phra Kring” (Phra = Buddha, Kring = inside metal bead) comes from a metal bead in amulet. The ringing sound is believed to bring good luck.
People believe Phra Kring can cure illness. In the reign of King Rama III, there was the spreading of cholera that killed many Thai people. Somdej Phrawannarat (LP Daeng) abbot of Wat Suthat, Bangkok blessed Phra Kring amulet in the water and gave out water to people. People who drank that water (including LP Daeng) could get over cholera.
About Guru Monk:
Luang Pu Sing ( LP Sing Sirithammo) Wat Siriupatham is a famous guru monk in Nong Khai Province. He wa a disciple of Luang Pu Thet Thesarangsi.
LP Sing was born on 18 September BE2451(CE1908) in Buriram Province. Got ordained when 20 at Wat Ban Na Pho in his hometown. After ordination, LP studied with monks at Wat Ban Na Pho. Then he was drafted into the army for 2 years. After dismission, LP came back to hometown and helped parents work.
Second ordination happened when LP Sing met LP Thet Thesarangsi. LP Sing admired LP Thet. LP Sing helped LP Thet build the temple and also studied dharma with him. LP Sing got ordained again when he was 59 that LP Thet was a preceptor.
Besides, when LP Sing had time, he usually went to pay respect to holy monks and learned dharma with them such as LP Khow Analayo, LP Fan Arjaro, LP Chob and LP Wiriyang.
LP Sing peacefully passed away at age 102 on 11 March BE2553 (CE2010).
