Purposes of Creation of making: to earn proceeds from amulet to build the pagoda “Phra That Chedi Sri Udhumporn” at Wat Udhumporn, Surin Province.
Consecration: holy blessing on Sunday 27 December 2020 at Udhumporn by LP Rod and famous guru monks LP Mian (Wat Ban Janian, Buriram Province), LP Uek (Wat Pa Huay Saneng, Surin Province), LP Phet (Wat Suwannaram, Surin Province) and LP Pord (Wat Sukhettaram, Surin Province).
Benefits: Rahu, the half-body black giant deity in posture of swallowing the moon is widely worshiped for good luck, success and wealth in Thailand. Moreover, people believe worshiping Rahu can drive out bad luck and bad things from the worshiper’s life.
Rahu is an important deity to all of us because Rahu influences our fortune. According to astrology, we all came from different planets. 7 days are 7 planets: Sunday/ Sun, Monday/Moon, Tuesday/Mars, Wednesday/ Mercury, Thursday/ Jupiter, Friday/ Venus, Saturday/Saturn. Not only them, but there is also Dao Rahu, astrological imaginary planet in that orbits around our planets. Astrologers say Rahu planet will influence the planet it moves to. Coming of Rahu planet will bring us changes. So, worshiping Rahu will turn changes to good.
It says once angels gathered in the ceremony of making immortal water. Rahu also came, but hid himself in the clouds. As soon as the immortal water was done, Rahu rushed to drink the immortal water for the first one. The sun god and the moon god saw that and immediately told Lord Vishnu. After hearing, Lord Vishnu was angry and went to punish Rahu by throwing the rowel to Rahu. The rowel cut Rahu in half, but Rahu had already drunk the immortal water, so his upper part had become immortal since then.
According to the story, every time when Rahu saw the sun and the moon, he would eat them with revenge that they told Lord Vishnu causing him half body. With heat of the sun and power of the moon, Rahu could not eat them, but only swallowed and then spat out. This action is well-known as Solar Eclipse and Lunar Eclipse.
About the Guru Monk:
Luang Pu Rod Arpassaro (aged 70, 47-year monkhood, 2018 CE) abbot of Wat Khok Krom, Surin Province. An incomparable monk with Thai and Khmer magical efficiency. He likes searching for herbs and occultism such as Buddhist hieroglyphic writing or any magic he always tries doing by himself to see the power. And when he sees it is really practical, he will apply to amulets for disciples and devotees. Among worshipers can meet with wonderful results from his amulets such as saving from harmful incidents, charm-gaining people’s kindness, good business and calling money that suits the condition of economy nowadays.
R.I.P. LP Rod peacefully passed away on 11 November 2022 at age 77 and 55 years in monkhood.
