Origin: Thailand

Purpose: to earn donations for developing and restoring Wat Pa Theparak

Ceremony: holy blessing by LP Sang Tong on the auspicious date

Power: Naga, a serpent being in Buddhist mythology is a symbol of “wealth” believed to worship will bring agricultural fertility (because it can access the land and the water) and plenty of fortune.

Thai people believe Naga live in Mekong River. The wonderful thing by Naga is the rise of light balls that occurs every year on a full moon night when Buddhist Lent is over (15th waxing moon of 11th month according to lunar calendar). People believe Naga produces light balls to worship Buddha. That night, Naga will gather at the center of Mekong River and produce many light balls going up in the sky.

About the Guru Monk:

This is Luang Por Sang Tong, a mysterious monk in Northeastern Thai forest who has powerful mind power and is an originator of Nammon Maha Phokasarp Rab Larp (Holy Water for Wealth). Also, LP Sang Tong can contact and invite Phra Thep Lok Udon* through his meditation.

*Phra Thep Lok Udon was a Buddhist monk living in King Ashoka period (King Ashoka: the great Indian emperor who was the head of big Buddhist scripture categorization). Phra Thep Lok Udon was chosen to propagate Buddha teachings in Thailand (Siam), Laos, Burma and Cambodia (Khmer). There is no a real picture of Phra Thep Lok Udon. The picture you see is just drawn from imagination. In Thailand, Phra Thep Lok Udon is regarded as an important monk in Thai history. He is also a model of contemplation and maintaining Buddhism for monks in Thailand.
