Legend of Phra Nak Prok
Phra Nak Prok is name of the Buddha image under the covering by Naga. This happened when Buddha was in practice of being enlightened. Buddha sat under the big Bodhi tree (Srimahapho) and kept doing meditation. One day, it rained 7 days and 7 nights and Phaya Mujarin (king of great snakes) saw and was afraid that Buddha would get wet, so he covered Buddha with himself like an umbrella. In fact, Phaya Mujarin had faith in Buddha. When it stopped raining, Phaya Mujarin transformed himself into a human and paid respect to Buddha.
Purpose: Created this amulet to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the age.
About the Guru Monk:
LUANGPHO SIN, abbot of Wat Lahanyai, Rayong Province is a famous guru monk of Thailand (the top guru monk of the east) who is a disciple of Luang Pu Tim, Wat Lahanrai (the same Province) and direct received magic and mantras from LP Tim, too.
**Luang Pu Tim, Wat Lahanrai was a superb guru monk in Thai history who was the originator of amulets made of Pong Prai Guman (holy powder mixed spirit spiritual powder). Although he passed away many years ago (16 Oct. 2518 BE / 1975 CE), his fame never fades. **
LP Sin was born on 21 Feb. 2471 BE (1928 CE) in Rayong Province. He got ordained as a Buddhist monk at age 24 at Wat Lahanrai in his hometown. After ordination, he looked after LP Tim and studied magic and mantras from LP Tim as well.
LP Sin holds precepts of monk perfectly and has high mercy, so he is respected by people very much. Many people believe in amulets from LP Sin because experiences show they can change bad situations to good amazingly. Actually, LP Sin never teaches people to believe in superstitions. He says holiness of any amulet depends on person faith. He also emphasizes people to apply Dharma of Buddha rather than knowing only theories.
Today, LP Sin is usually invited to join blessing ceremonies by temples around Thailand. For his amulets, they are not often released, but only special occasions and not many pieces. However, amulets from LP Sin are popular.
