About Temple:
Wat Ratchasit (informally called Wat Plub) is an ancient temple in Bangkok, built in Ayutthaya period. King Rama 1 invited Luang Pu Suk (also Suk Gai Tuean, Phra Sangkarat Gai Tuean), a revered monk in early Rattanakosin era to be the first abbot. LP Suk was the teacher of King Rama 1 and also expert at mantras and introspection meditation (Vipassana Gammathan). King Rama 2 appointed LP Suk to be the 4th Supreme Buddhist Patriarch of Thailand. Moreover, Thai people believe LP Suk of Wat Ratchasit was teacher of Somdej Toh. LP Suk passed away on 29 August 2365 BE (1822 CE).
