Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

Hin Phra That (Holy Rock):
Kao Sam Roi Yod is name of the mountain in Prachuabkirikhan Province where the national park is located well-known as Kao Sam Roi Yod National Park. There is a quiet place surrounded by nature. There are many caves in it.
Thai people believe that many hundreds of years ago, many Buddha disciples came to Kao Sam Roi Yod to do meditation. They stayed in the caves and did meditation until their minds were perfectly still and enlightened. These Buddha disciples left their bodies there when they died. Year after year, their bodies decayed and turned to rock in the caves that people call Hin Phra That. People believe Hin Phra That is holy.

About Guru Monk:
This is Luang Por Na of Wat Phaithaphoto, Phichit Province who is highly respected. This year 2016, he is 74 and has been a Buddhist monk for 33 years.
In fact, Luang Por Na is one of proficient guru monks in Phichit Province. He studied mantra from Luang Por Phuang of Wat Phaithaphotai, Phichit Province. Luang Por Phuang was a famous guru monk of Phichit in the past. He taught Luang Por Na knowledge of Takrut Ku Cheevit which has strong protection power originating from Luang Por Nguen of Wat Bang Klan, Phichit Province.
Luang Por Na is a clean monk. He never cares about money. Once, in ceremony, many people begged Luang Por for amulets. Luang Por gave them amulets, but amulets were not enough. So, Luang Por gave people banknotes which disciples donated to him as amulet instead.

Belief about a Crocodile:
Crocodile is tied to Thai belief. In Phichit Province, there is a legend of the crocodile named Chalawan (cha-la-wan). Chalawan was a powerful crocodile. It could transform itself into a man. One day, he saw two beautiful ladies swimming and fell in love. The ladies were sisters and daughters of a millionaire in Phichit Province. While sisters were swimming, crocodile Chalawan took one named Taphaokaew (ta-phao-kaew) to his cave. When a millionaire knew, he announced that he would give his daughters and money to whoever defeated Chalawan and took his daughter back. Finally, crocodile Chalawan lost to a man named Kraithong (krai-thong).
Crocodile also appears in Buddhism. A picture of crocodile is printed on the flag in Kathin (Buddhist annual event). Crocodile picture refers to the story of a stingy millionaire. Once upon a time, there was a stingy millionaire. He never made merit. He buried money in front of his house near river. He was so stingy that did not tell his wife and son where money was. When he died, his spirit became a crocodile swimming near his money place.
Time passed, river broke soil nearer where money was kept. Millionaire spirit was afraid that money would be lost by water. So, he appeared in his son dream. In the dream, a millionaire told his son that he became a crocodile due to too much worry about money. He told his son to take money he buried to donate to temple for merit. With gratitude, the son took his father money to join Katha event at the temple near river. The son made a crocodile flag as a representative of his father who donated.
Deeply, crocodile image in Kathin would like to teach people to make merit during the lifetime because when we die we cannot take money with us except merit we make.
