Luang Pu Thuad, born BE 2125 (CE 1582), died BE 2225 (CE 1682) is a revered Buddhist monk who lived in Siam. He is said to have performed miracles.
Luang Pu Thuat is mentioned in the early regional histories of southern Thailand, but his life is mainly preserved in oral. His movements throughout the Southern peninsula constitute a path of pilgrimage for many of his followers.
Many people in Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia believe that amulets created in Luang Pu Thuat's image hold great protective powers granting safety in times of distress, especially saving the lives of believers from seemingly fatal automobile accidents. Phra Ajarn Tim Dharmataro, abbot of Wat Chang Hai is the pioneer creator of Phra Luang Por Thuad amulets. Old sacred amulets of Pu Thuat are considered priceless and very powerful.

Wat Huai Mongkol is located in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. It was built in BE 2507 (CE 1964).
This temple is beautiful and large. There is the giant LP Thuad statue built in BE 2547 (CE 2004) which becomes a signature of Wat Huai Mongkol. Moreover, King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit have ever been to this temple.
