Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

Name: Set of Phra Kring, Chaiwat & Somdej

- Nawa Loha (9 metals)
- Created only 884 sets

Size: Phra Somdej 2.4 cm x 3.5 cm/ Phra Kring 1.8 cm x 3 cm/ Phra Chaiwat 1.1 cm x 1.7 cm

Phra Kring and Phra Chaiwat are usually made together that Phra Chaiwat is conventionally smaller than Phra Kring. One feature of Phra Kring is having a metal bead inside, making a sound when being shaken where the word Kring comes from.

Phra Kring is a very auspicious amulet. Thai people believe Phra Kring can make the wishes of the wisher come true, bring wealth, good luck, prosperity, happiness and safety to the worshipper and also make the worshipper recover from illness or diseases.

Phra Chaiwat is an ancient amulet which is important as the amulet of the King. Every king of Thailand has his own Phra Chaiwat. Phra Chaiwat is lofty and precious. People believe to worship Phra Chaiwat will bring auspiciousness, good luck, wealth, safety, prosperity and success to life of the worshipper. Phra Chaiwat can increase the power and the merit of the owner and make the wishes come true.

As we know, Phra Somdej is number 1 amulet in Thailand. It has been tied to Thai belief for a long time. The first Phra Somdej in history was created by Somdej Toh Phromrangsi (Wat Rakhang, Bangkok). People and gurus all try to own the original Phra Somdej because it is very powerful in protection like people often say with holiness of Phra Somdej any danger cannot damage the owner.

From: Wat Suttharam, Bangkok

Origin: Thailand

Name: Tak Sin Chinnabanchon 60

Year: 2557 BE (2014 CE)

Background of batch Tak Sin Chinnabanchon 60:

On April 17th, 1954, His Majesty the King Bhumibol came to open King Tak Sin Monument at Wongwian Yai traffic circle, Thonburi district, Bangkok. From that date until April 17th, 2014, it was 60th anniversary of King Tak Sin Monument. On April 17th, 2014, 250 monks were invited to have lunch offering and bless in order to make merit for King Tak Sin, the king whom Thai people highly respect.

The name of this batch was named after King Tak Sin. Chinnabanchon is the word to recall Somdej Toh PhromRangSi, a pioneer of Phra Somdej and a composer of great Katha Chinnabanchon. Another, birthday of King Tak Sin is the same as Somdej Toh, April 17th. Sixty means the anniversary of opening King Tak Sin Monument (17 Apr. 1954-17 Apr. 2014).

(For Your Information: King Tak Sin was a ruler of Thonburi era; short period before Rattanakosin era. King Tak Sin freed Siam from Burma after second loss of Ayutthaya kingdom.)
