About the Guru Monk:
This is Luang Por Sod who established Wat Khao Hin Kong, Chanthaburi Province. Luang Por Sod is full of mercy and masterly at mantras. Now 2015 CE, he is 60 and has been a Buddhist monk for 22 years. Luang Por Sod is respected by people in Chanthaburi and other Provinces.
Luang Por Sod was born on Friday 9 August 2498 BE (1955 CE) in Chanthaburi Province. At age 16, he got ordained as a Buddhist novice. First year, he passed monk examination. Second year, he studied Buddhist subjects. Then he studied Sak Yant (holy tattooing) and mantras from Ajarn Jui, a guru master for 7-8 months. Luang Por Sod learnt very well. Ajarn Jui said to disciples before he died that Luang Por Sod would be a representative of him. Not long, Ajarn Jui died from stomachache. So, people went to Luang Por Sod for Sak Yant instead.
In adolescence, Luang Por Sod was so interested in mantras that when he heard of magical experts he did not hesitate to go to learn from them. At age 20, he got ordained as a Buddhist monk. One year after, he left temple to be a soldier because of military command. He drilled for 6 months and then was sent to work in the South. After a soldier, he got married. With boredom with layman life, he wanted to find the peace of mind. Thus he returned to monkhood as second ordination in 2536 BE (1993 CE)
Then he went on a pilgrimage (monk journey called Tudong) in the woods, Chantaburi Province. Finally, he found the good place for meditation where is Wat Khao Hin Kong today. Wat Khao Hin Kong is on the mountain. At that time, there was no the temple. Luang Por Sod was the first monk who stayed and set up Wat Khao Hin Kong.
Wat Khao Hin Kong has been gradually developed by Luang Por Sod. Today, Luang Por Sod uses his experience to help people such as curing patients with herbs, making holy amulets for people, anointing a car for auspiciousness, telling people horoscopes, etc.
Besides, Luang Por is kind to animals. He usually feeds birds, cats, dogs and wild pigs and prohibits people from hurting animals.
Although, Luang Por Sod is not publicized, he is well-known among believers because people share their experiences with amulets from him. Daily, many people come to Luang Por and when Luang Por has activities, disciples usually help.
