About Luang Por Phuttha Sothon:
Luang Por (also Phra) Phuttha Sothon is the revered Buddha image of Chachoengsao Province, situated in the Ubosod (chapel) of Wat Sothonwararam Worawihan. Buddha Image is 1.48 meters high, with a lap width of 1.65 meters.
The legend says before Luang Por Phuttha Sothon is situated in Ubosod (the chapel), this Buddha image floated along the river (assumed from the North). When people saw the Buddha, they tried to take Buddha up the shore. But they could not. So, they built the temporary shrine and did the ceremony before taking up the Buddha. With this way, they successfully took Buddha out of the river.
Today, Luang Por Phuttha Sothon becomes well-known. People from different parts of Thailand visit the temple every day to pay respect to Luang Por Phuttha Sothon. People say that Luang Por Phuttha Sothon is very holy because the Buddha can fulfill wishes of people. They say paying respect to Luang Por Phuttha Sothon is good for life and will bring prosperity. Many sellers in Chachoengsao Province popularly put the picture of Luang Por Phuttha Sothon in their shops in order to bring wealth.
