In many cultures for example China, a tortoise is believed as a holy animal because it stays under a hard shell, can dive and lives long. Tortoise also relates to Buddha’s story that Buddha was once born as a tortoise. In Thailand, you can see tortoise amulets or sculptures placed in houses and establishments especially a shop mostly wished for good luck and successful business. In fact, people think that tortoise amulet makes its worshipper lucky, wealthy and has long life.

About the Guru Monk:
In Prachinburi Province, there is a good guru monk named LP Sanit Visutthajitto. LP Sanit Visutthajitto is an abbot of Wat Phutthanuphap. In 2014 CE, LP Sanit is 72 years old. His hometown is Nakhon Nayok Province. Before ordination, LP Sanit spent his life like other laymen (did both good and bad). Since he was ordained as a monk, he has dedicated himself to Buddhism (being a monk both body and soul). LP Sanit Visutthajitto established 3 temples Wat Nong Talad, Wat Prong Sadao and Wat Phutthanuphap. People say LP Sanit is simple and not greedy. People pay only 1 baht as a fee to get blessing and holy water from LP Sanit. The fees will be collected to develop and restore the temple. LP Sanit has mercy on everyone, so people respect him. About magical knowledge, LP Sanit learnt it from famous Eastern guru monks LP Tarb Wat Arunrangsri and LP Sanit Wat Lumbualoy who are famous for mantra of luck and wealth. LP Sanit applies knowledge from his masters properly. So, people ask him to make amulets. LP Sanit spends 3 months on blessing amulets.
One famous thing by LP Sanit is known as “Tor Sen Watsana”, a ceremony to lengthen life. Here are steps of this ceremony.
1. Person gives Sangkatan (offerings for a monk) to LP Sanit.
2. Person gets blessing from LP Sanit.
3. LP Sanit pastes gold foils on person’s forehead and some parts of person’s body.
4. Person opens their both palms by getting lines of two palms together.
5. LP Sanit pastes gold foils on person’s palms believed to make life longer.
6. LP Sanit uses a candle to write Yant (sacred characters) on person’s face believed to make person safe when going anywhere.
7. LP Sanit puts Sian Ruesior a crown with a hermit image on person’s head believed to remove bad luck from person.
