Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, perched high on the flank of Suthep Mountain, 1,022 m (3,000ft) above sea level, is Chiang Mai's most famous temple. The pagoda in its centre contains some of the relics of the Lord Buddha. The temple is visited thoughout the year by thousands of tourists and Buddhist pilrims from all over the world.
According to legend, the temple's site was selected by an auspicious elephant. The story goes that a monk named Sumana placed half of a Buddha relic on an elephant's back and set it loose. It was decided that when the elephant stopped walking, a temple would be built on that exact spot to house the gem ... Instead of stopping at an easy site, the elephant began climbing the hill - and finally paused on the brow. This was where Wat Prathat Doi Suthep was built by King Kuna in 1388...
This is large version with tall base of the Phra Rung Lang Rang Puen editions: This presented a Buddha image standing giving blessings within a Ruen Kaew structure. The back of the amulet is special because of a long indention shaped like an air gun. Hence the nickname of Lang Rang Puen which roughly translates to “behind the gun chamber”.
Regarding to making this Buddha amulet, Phrathat Doi Tung in Chaing Rai Province has made and blessed properly by many guru monks from north of Thailand in 1973. They requires donation for repairing the Pagoda at this place. Also, King Rama 9 has been to this big ceremony.
Magic power!! This big ceremony has LP Waen of Wat Doi Mae Pahng and LP KaSem blessed properly this Buddha amulet.
Some people said that LP Waen had achieved Arahang level. Tahn Jow Koon Noh had in fact mentioned that "There is a Phra Arahang, but he lives far away, in the forest". LP Waen passed away in 1985 at the age of 98 years old.
Regarding to LP KaSem of Susan TriLak Lampang(Cemetery). LP did not live in the temple because LP wants to build up good Karmic and to know the teaching of Buddha. LP is very well-known and popular for his knowledge in Visha (Supernatural arts.) LP KaSem passed away in 1996 at the age of 83 years old.
