LP Tong Pool is a well-known monk in Nong Khai Province, northeast of Thailand and an abbot of Wat Pa Samakkee Upatam (former name: Wat Pu Gatae) in Nong Khai Province. He was born in BE 2475 (CE 1932) in Sakon Nakhon Province. He is 81 years old now (CE 2013).
LP Tong Pool is the first generation disciple of LP Mun, an important monk in the past. He got ordained in BE 2495 (CE 1952) at the age of 20. After ordination, he set his heart on dharma of Buddha and meditation. He practiced meditation seriously and he finally found out.
LP Tong Pool first came to where is Wat Pa Samakkee Upatam now in BE 2502 (CE 1959). At that time, that area was just a hill. He and villagers developed that area as the temple with unity. People in that area do love and respect LP Tong Pool because he is a good monk.
