Luang Pho Chuang abbot of Wat KuanPunTaRarm, Phatthalung Province was born in 1926. Now he is 80 year old. He has been an expert of concentration of mindfulness in Buddhism way. He has knowledge of Visha (Magic) and has been studied the art of making efficacious amulets from many guru monks of Wat KowOo. Also, LP Chuang was close disciple of old abbot of Wat KuanPunTaRarm who has knowledge in both Dharma and Visha (magic). LP Chuang has deep knowledge of Visha and is highly respected in South of Thailand. LP Chuang’s amulets are very popular among Thai amulets collectors.
Wat Khao Or has more than 120 year history of making good Amulets. Most of the believer’s considered that the Amulets carry protective powers. Also, many holy monks has been studied the art of making efficacious amulets and magic from this temple, as LP Tow, LP Ied, LP Num, LP Ngurn of Wat DaunSaLa, LP Kong of Wat BanSuan, LP Pah, LP Klan of Wat Khao Or and Ajarn KunPan (layman) etc.,
Phra RaHu is the famous auspicious amulet. Phra RaHu is a mythological monster who is supposed to cause eclipses by taking the moon or the sun in his mouth. He is a kind of giant in Thai myth. The legend is that Pra-RaHu was an immortal giant because he drank some holy nectar. The temple created Phra RaHu amulet not only – taking the moon in his mouth – but also taking the sun in his mouth.
The legend of creation of Phra RaHu is that Phra RaHu was created by the two hermits. One of them was penance in the cave on Nantakhate Mountain. Both of them created magical drawing and magic words in order to sanctify Phra RaHu amulet. One hermit created magical drawing and magic words of Suriyabuppa (eclipse of the sun period) to sanctify Phra RaHu which taking the sun in his mouth. The other hermit created magical drawing and magic words of Chandrabuppa (eclipse of the moon in his mouth. The two hermits made those things because they had foresight to know that humans will face with danger and grieves in the future. The auspicious amulet, Phra RaHu, could help people free from ones.
This amulet has present Phra RaHu eclipse of the moon in his mouth, made from Kala bracelet or One-eye coconut shell. This One-eye coconut shells is the best materials to make powerful Phra RaHu amulet. Ajarn PaiRat (layman) of Wat Khao Or has to put “Med Nor Mo” on the back of this image and blessed properly by LP Chuang in 2006.
