Name: The Celebration of 140 Years Anniversary of Wat Samiannari

Origin: Thailand

Purpose:
1. To be a token of appreciation of 140 years anniversary of Wat Samiannari in 1997
2. To be a reward for people who donated some money for opening the new chapel of Wat Samiannari between the 1st – the 9th February 1997
3. To use the money from selling the amulets for contributing the fund of building the pavilion and the cell of monk as well as developing and restoring the temple
4. To establish ThamMaRat Foundation to support education of monks and novices, to pay for hospital fare for sick monks and sick novices, to develop and restore the temple and for the charity

Ceremony: 19 top guru monks participated in blessing ceremony at the chapel of Wat Samiannari on Thursday the 19th December 1996 such as LP Na, LP Khong, LP Tim, LP Yam, LP Sawai, LP Hong, LP Mian, LP Poen, and others.

Power: Power of this amulet: People believed that LP SoThorn help to avoidal danger and unwanted happenings. Lead away from disasters and disturbance.

The history of Phra phutthasothorn:
Phra phutthasothorn or Luang Por Sothorn, Thai people want to worship most. The legend said that, one day there were three Buddha floating into the river. Even though, using 500 people can’t bring three of them out to the land. Floating until to the Sampratuan, today is Sumpatuan and floating until they call it now that "Bang phra."

Luang Por sothorn is a Pang samathi Buddha in Lan chang type. While Wat sothorn is the temple of Paad riew together with originates at Krung sriayuthya , locates at Bangpakong river in the area that was called Kongmungkorn {Dragon bend of a river} or Chinese calls Wat hong. Later, bringing Luang Por to locate inside the temple. The wind is blowing till the post is broken. Then the people changes from post to flag staff and changes its name to "Wat saothong." Not so long, the flag staff is broken again, and then changes its name to Wat saothongthong and changes into Wat sothorn in the final which means Wat Three Buddhas, all relatives. Later, because of Phutthanuphab has changed its meaning to Sothorn- purified, sacred from that time.

For Your Information of Wat Samiannari is located in Jatujak District, Bangkok. This temple was established in 1857 by madam Samiankham, a treasurer of King Rama the Fifth. Then madam Samiankham handed down her position of a treasure of King to her daughter. Both madam Samiankham and her daughter always supported this temple all their lives. So, this temple was named Wat Samiannari to be an honor to them in 1979. Wat Samiannari has been being developed. In 1988, this temple received a reward of Model Developed Temple of Bangkok from Department of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Culture.
