Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

Chao Khun Nor was a close royal servant of King Rama VI. He had ordained a monk at Wat DhepSiRin in 1952. He never left his monkshood until he passed away in early 1971 at the age of 74. In his long year of monkshood, he ate only one vegetable and cereal meal a day and never stepped out of the temple even in the period.

In the war time, Bangkok railway main station just few Km away from the temple was intensively bombed by the allied force, but the bombs missed the target and hit the temple. Almost all monk left the temple for safety, but he was still living there: Chao Khun Nor was strict Dhamma, devoted all his monkshood life to follow Lord Buddha’s teachings and never missed the morning and evening chant at Ubosoth until the end of his life.

This is a Buddha image of “Phra Naga Prok”. Show the Buddha sits on a large coiled serpent which rises to protect him from a raging storm. The Buddha sits in profound medita-tion unaware of the turnout, as he is lifted over the rising waves by the King of Nagas.

This Buddha amulet has been made and blessed properly by holy monks which are closed disciplines several years ago who has been studied the art of making efficacious amulets and magic from Chao Khun Nor.The ceremony strictly follow Chao Khun Nor instruction.
