History of Wat Wiharn Mongkonborpit:
Wat Wiharn Mongkon Borpit, the Buddha of LP Mongkon Borpit is a Buddha of Ayudhaya Province. Phra Monkon Borpit is a Poon Pun Sam Rit Buddha which has a big size in Thailand.
From an old time, it locates in the East, outside Grand Palace. Somdej Phra Chao Song Tham gave a fortune to change this Buddha to the West where is located in present days.
Besides, he ordered to build Mon Dop and when the King of Phra Chao Ser-ah, the head of Mon Dop was fired because of thunder which caused the Neck of Phra Monkon Borpit ‘s broken . So, he ordered to re-built and changed to Maha Wiharn instead.
When Krun Sri Ayudhya’s broken in the second time, Wiharn Monkon Borpit was fired and decayed, Phra Wiharn and the Buddha have been re-built but not perfect as before.
