The History of Wat Don Wai,:
Wat Don Wai is a private temple, located on 78 Moo 5 Tumbon Bang Kra Thuk, Amphor Sampran, Nakhon Pathom Province. The South is next to Wat Don Wai School, the East is next to Rai Khink Song Kanong Road, the West is next to Nakorn Chai Sri River or Mae Nam Tha Jeen, was built on BE 2394 in the reign of King Rama IV and rebuilt until the reign of King Rama VI at BE 2463.
From the past, we can know that there were Ton Wai a lot so they called the village that Ban Koke Wai.
There are LP Vilailert that are the most beautiful of the beginning of Ratana Kosin era. Besides, there were LP Visaharn in the Viharn, too.
Pagoda of Wat Don Wai is big and old that has located for four angles as the following:
Pagoda on the East side, is a big square size. It was rebuilt as a turn-up-side down of pagoda or Song Lungka.
Pagoda on the West side, is a big size of a roundable that has 7 floors on the square of 3 floors, Rakang Song Lanka.
Pagoda on the North side, in the year of BE 2542, the temple has rebuilt a new pagoda at the angle of glass ceiling of the East, so they built another pagoda at the North of the angle of glass ceiling with the same size.
Mondop, in the past Wat Don Wai has the former of one Mondop, located on the glass ceiling of the West. Nowadays, Wat Don Wai has no Mondop anymore since the decay of the Mondop.
The sequence of abbot:
After Phra Tham Raja Nuvat was dead in BE 2463 has brought Phra Atikarn Did from Ayuthya to be an abbot, but nobody knew about LP death.
2. Phra Atikarn Sang, the later abbot and retire himself.
3. Phra Atikarn Plien, the later abbot and retirehimself.
4. Phra Atikarn Kum, the next abbot and retirement from BE 2450.
5. Phra Atikarn Yod Intaros, the next abbot and die in BE 2483.
6. Phra Atikarn Kan Intacheto, the appointed on BE 2485 and die at 14 April BE 2500.
7. Phra Atikarn Thiang Payotto, to be appointed on BE 2501 and retirement on 26 April BE 2506.
8. Phra Kru PaisanThamvathee (Te Kovito), to be appointed on BE 2506 and die on BE 2535.
9. Phra Kru Sangarak (Narin Thudtho), to be appointed at BE 2538 to BE 2539.
10. Phra Atikarn Prawat Pawatigo, to be appointed on B.E 2540 to BE 2548.
11. Phra Tham Senanee (Chun Kitivanno), the abbot of Wat Wangtagu of Nakhon Pathom to be appointed as the abbot of Wat Don Wai from BE 2549 to BE 2550.
12. Now is Phra Methee Thammanun (Samrueng Thammanontho) is appointed to be the abbot of Wat Don Wai from BE 2550 until today.
