Power: Rahoo, the half-body black giant deity in posture of swallowing the moon is widely worshiped for good luck, success and wealth in Thailand. Moreover, people believe worshiping Rahucan drive out bad luck and bad things from the worshiper’s life.
Rahuis an important deity to all of us because Rahuinfluences our fortune. According to astrology, we all came from different planets. 7 days are 7 planets: Sunday/ Sun, Monday/Moon, Tuesday/Mars, Wednesday/ Mercury, Thursday/ Jupiter, Friday/ Venus, Saturday/Saturn. Not only them, but there is also Dao Rahoo, astrological imaginary planet in that orbits around our planets. Astrologers say Rahuplanet will influence the planet it moves to. Coming of Rahuplanet will bring us changes. So, worshiping Rahuwill turn changes to good.
It says once angels gathered in the ceremony of making immortal water. Rahualso came, but hid himself in the clouds. As soon as the immortal water was done, Rahurushed to drink the immortal water for the first one. The sun god and the moon god saw that and immediately told Lord Vishnu. After hearing, Lord Vishnu was angry and went to punish Rahuby throwing the rowel to Rahoo. The rowel cut Rahuin half, but Rahuhad already drunk the immortal water, so his upper part had become immortal since then.
According to the story, every time when Rahusaw the sun and the moon, he would eat them with revenge that they told Lord Vishnu causing him half body. With heat of the sun and power of the moon, Rahucould not eat them, but only swallowed and then spat out. This action is well-known as Solar Eclipse and Lunar Eclipse.
About the Guru Monk:
LUANGPHO NEN (fully called LP Nen Kampeero, also LP Nen Gaew) is a skilled guru monk and a developer. He was born in 1980 in Roi Et Province. He has been interested in dharma since he was seven. He can be obsessed by RuesiTafai, a powerful hermit spirit because his mind can contact with RuesiTafai. When he was a child, he was obsessed by RuesiTafai many times. After ordination, LP Nen set his heart on dharma and meditation. He spent most time on a pilgrimage in Thailand and Laos. He also went to learn magic and meditation from many skilled guru monks around Thailand such as LP KumPun, LP Phromma, LP Jaran, LP Ruesi Lingdam , LP Sawai , etc.
LP Nen established Wat Ban Kases Toong Setthi in Roi Et Province in 2006 in order to be the place for people to worship, do meditation, chant and do Buddhist rites. Beyond anything else, he has intention to maintain Buddhism. LP Nen Kampeero always teaches people to do good things and avoid doing bad things.
