About Guru Monk:
Luang Pu Boon (monk name: Sophano) is an abbot of Wat Thoonghiang in Chonburi Province, Thailand. He is a good monk whom a lot of people love and respect. He devotes himself to Buddhism. He helps the hill tribes in the north of Thailand to have education. His amulets are holy and effective. They are famous for good luck, wealth and protection. He is 82 years old now (CE 2013). He has been in monkhood for more than 60 years.
LP Boon was born on the 12 February 2474 BE (1931 CE) in Chonburi Province. He was interested in Buddhism when he was a child. When he was 20, he got ordained. He began pilgrimage in 2529 BE (1986 CE).
He went on a pilgrimage on the mountain in Chiang Mai Province, the north of Thailand. He saw that the hill tribes lived inconveniently. Most of them had no education because they were poor. So, LP Boon taught them Buddha teachings (dharma) and suggested them to respect Buddhism. The hill tribe boys got ordained as a novice. This way, they could learn Thai language in reading and writing. After that, LP Boon established the dharma school and the foundation at his temple for the hill tribes from Northern Provinces such as Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Son, etc.
For more than 20 years, LP Boon has helped the hill tribes in Thailand. More than 2,000 hill tribes have education and better life. LP Boon does not want any reward from what he does. He does it by heart.
