Information about Wat Jowfa Salaloi:
Wat Jowfa Salaloi is an old temple in Chumphon Province (first province in southern Thailand). This temple is famous for Luangpu Sohng, a monk whom people respect for his good and a non-perish dead body. In addition, there is the big nice cannonball tree (called “Salah” in Thai, name of the flowering tree that Buddha’s mother delivered of Buddha under), the LP Sohng statue and the Buddha image.
Biography of LP Sohng:
LP Sohng was a past guru monk whom people have faith in because he was good. He was an abbot of Wat Jowfa Salaloi in Chumphon Province. When he was alive, he always helped people and had mercy on everyone and animals. He had strong mindfulness and contemplation. Moreover, he had holy words that what he said would come true. Although he passed away many years ago, his body does not decay that amazes people. People think merit of LP Sohng preserves his body.
LP Sohng was born in B.E. 2433 (C.E. 1890) in Chumphon Province. He got ordained as a novice when he was 18 at the temple in his province. After that, he resigned to help his parents work. When he was 20, he got ordained again as a monk. He was named “Jantasaro Pikkoo”. After ordination, he tried to achieve dharma and meditation. He began a pilgrimage. His journey was in the forest where was quiet. He had an effort to achieve his attention. On his journey, he met several pilgrim monks and learnt dharma and meditation from them. With his pure mercy, he was safe from any wild animal.
LP Sohng stayed in the forest for years and he was finally enlightened. Then he came to Wat Jowfa Salaloi, Chumphon Province in B.E. 2462 (C.E. 1919). There, people admired and respected him very much. LP Sohng cured sick people with his holy water. His water could make people recover from illness and being obsessed by a spirit. It made people believe in LP Sohng more.
LP Sohng passed away on the 2nd August B.E. 2526 (C.E. 1983) at age 94 and 74 years in monkhood.

Power: Prince Chumphon (Gommaluang Chumphon) is an important person of Chumphon Province. He knew magic. After he passed away, people worship him and found wonderful experience. People built the shrine for him called San Gommaluang Chumphon in Chumphon Province. When people make a wish, they have to fire a gun for Prince Chumphon which is provided at the shrine. People say Prince Chumphon can make their wishes come true and shooting is what Prince Chumphon liked when he was alive.
Biography of Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse, Prince Chumphon:
Admiral Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse, Prince Chumphon, (19 December 1880 – 19 May 1923) was the 28th child of King Chulalongkorn. His familiar other names, Sadej Tia ("Royal Father") or Doctor Phon or Prince Chumphon, will command deep respect from Thai people from navy officers to rural villagers.
He spent his early years studying naval warfare in England. He returned to Siam to serve in the Royal Siamese Navy and contributed significantly to the advancement and modernization of the navy. In honor of his contributions, the Prince was proclaimed "The Father of Royal Thai Navy".
In addition to his career in the navy, Prince Chumphon studied medicine. He was particularly interested in the use of herbal medicine in treating his patients. As "Doctor Phon", he provided medical treatment to people of all classes and races.
The Prince was also well recognized in the field of supernatural arts. His reputation on magic was such that he has been regarded as one of the "108 deities in heavens". Many worshippers proclaim themselves to be his "children" or followers and pray to him for fulfillment of their wishes.
