Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

Superb Power— Rahoo, the half-body black giant deity in posture of swallowing the moon is widely worshiped for good luck, success and wealth in Thailand. Moreover, people believe worshiping Rahucan drive out bad luck and bad things from the worshiper’s life.

Sacred Materials—Kala Ta Diaw is what Thai people call an uncommon coconut shell with only one hollow on its top part unlike others that have 3 hollows. Ancient Thai people believed that a coconut shell with one hollow has hidden power in itself. They cut the coconut shell and punched a hole on a piece of it. They inserted rope into the hole and wore as a talisman. They believed this talisman could save them from dangers and fulfill what they pray for. In Sukothai Era, some people who knew magic began to consecrate a piece of mentioned coconut shell. They built up sacredness for the coconut shell. So, name “Kala Ta Diaw” became well-known. In Ayutthaya Era, people believed this kind of amulet could attract good luck and prevent poverty.

About LP Mahasurasak:
When talking about Samut Songkhram Province, we think of many skilled guru monks such as LP Kong of Wat Bang Kapom, LP Jai of Wat Sadet, LP Nueang of Wat Chulamanee and LP Yord of Wat Kaew Charoen. Those mentioned already passed away, but there is one guru monk who is experienced and accepted as much as those. This is Luang Por Mahasurasak.

LP Mahasurasak (Birthday 6 July 1961) is abbot of Wat Pradu in Samut Songkhram Province. He keeps on superb mantras of famous guru monks in the past. Today, LP Mahasurasak is a top guru monk of Thailand. When there is a blessing ceremony, there is LP Mahasurasak. We often see him in many blessing ceremonies. LP Mahasurasak does not only have good knowledge of mantras, but also astrology and sculpture.

LP Mahasurasak was born in Samut Songkhram Province, so he is attached to his Province. Samut Songkhram people love and respect LP Mahasurasak very much because he is friendly to everyone. Some people who talked to LP Mahasurasak and got teachings from him repented and corrected their behaviors. Moreover, he develops his temple as a learning center of local wisdom for people in the community.

REAL EXPERIENCE: For holiness of amulets by LP Mahasurasak, this is a true story of a man who wears Phra Khun Paen amulet from LP Mahasurasak. A man said that he got Phra Khun Paen from LP Mahasurasak and it saved him from fatal accident on 11 August 2009. At that day, while he was driving home, a car in front of him lost of control and went to his car, but fortunately that car slid aside. A man believed Phra Khun Paen from LP Mahasurasak saved him!
