Belief about Phra Kring:
Phra Kring is a famous Buddha amulet in Thailand. Thai people believe Phra Kring can make the wishes of the wisher come true, bring wealth, good luck, prosperity, happiness and safety to the worshiper and also make the worshiper recover from illness or diseases. One feature of Phra Kring is to have a metal bead inside that will have a sound when being shaken where the word “Kring” comes from.
In the reign of King Rama III, there was the spreading of cholera that killed many Thai people. Somdej Phrawannarat (LP Daeng) abbot of Wat Suthat, Bangkok blessed Phra Kring amulet in the water and gave out water to people. People who drank that water (including LP Daeng) could get over cholera.
Thai people believe holy water with Phra Kring can carry off illness and bad luck. You can make by yourself, first, prepare the clean water. Second, dip Phra Kring amulet in the water and chant Katha of Phra Kring. When finishing, take Phra Kring amulet out of the water. This holy water can be drunk for curing illness or used to wash face or body to remove bad luck.

When talking about Samut Songkhram province, we think of many skilled guru monks such as LP Kong of Wat Bang Kapom, LP Jai of Wat Sadet, LP Nueang of Wat Chulamanee and LP Yord of Wat Kaew Charoen. Those mentioned already passed away, but there is one guru monk who is experienced and accepted as much as those. This is Luangpho Mahasurasak.
