Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

One feature of Phra Kring is to have a metal bead inside that will have a sound when being shaken where the word “Kring” comes from.

In the reign of King Rama III, there was the spreading of cholera that killed many Thai people. Somdej Phrawannarat (LP Daeng) abbot of Wat Suthat, Bangkok blessed Phra Kring amulet in the water and gave out water to people. People who drank that water (including LP Daeng) could get over cholera.

Thai people believe holy water with Phra Kring can carry off illness and bad luck. You can make by yourself, first, prepare the clean water. Second, dip Phra Kring amulet in the water and chant Katha of Phra Kring. When finishing, take Phra Kring amulet out of the water.
