About LP Ha (Who Contacted Dinosaur Spirits):
This is a holy monk named Luang Pu Ha or people call “A Dinosaur Monk” (birth: 2 July 1925, ordination: 1945). The name “Dinosaur” derived when LP Ha discovered the skeleton of “Phuwiangosaurus sirindhornae” from seeing in meditation.
LP Ha stays at Wat Sakawan in Kalasin Province. Although a lot of work: teaching novices and monks and governing the clergy, LP Ha never misses doing meditation. When he has time, he always spends 15 days on doing meditation on Phu Kum Khao (the mountain) without food and toilet.
In 1991, while doing meditation, LP Ha saw very bright light and then became a picture of large creatures with a long neck eating leaves and playing water, then falling down to the ground. That happened to LP Ha again in 1993 and 1994.
The last time, the dinosaurs told LP Ha that they would stay with him and there would be the big rain the following day. Incredibly, it happened like that. It rained very hard for 3 hours that the water eroded the soil deeper and deeper. When it stopped raining, many large bones appeared on the ground. When the archeologists had checked, they said those were real dinosaur bones. Now, Phu Kum Khao at Wat Sakkawan, Kalasin Province becomes the dinosaur museum (Sirindhorn Museum) for people to learn.
History of Luang Por Bandan Samrit Phol (The Buddha of Achievement):
Luang Por Bandan Samrit Phol or informally called ‘Luang Por Ban Dan’ is a holy Buddha image in the chapel at Wat Sakkawan, Kalasin Province. Created in time of the Five Kings building Phra That Phanom the holy pagoda containing Buddha’s relics in Nakhon Phanom Province. At that time, many people flew in to join the Five Kings. Some people had reached Phra That Phanom and went back home. During their way down the hill, they met another group of people coming to join the Five Kings. The people who had been there already warned another group about difficulties on the journey such as a long distance, a rough way, tall mountains and fierce animals because they had seen before. When another group of people heard that, they felt sorry that they couldn’t fulfill their intention, so they had an idea to create the Buddha image to worship Buddha instead. They got a stone and carved into Buddha image. That rock Buddha image had stood by the marsh for a long period of time and was moved to Wat Sakawan in May, 1967. Every Songkran (Thailand’s water festival), people do ‘Song Nam’ (pouring water on Buddha image with respect) for Luang Por Bandan Samrit Phol for auspiciousness. People believe ‘Luang Por Bandan Samrit Phol’ will grant worshiper the achievement in wishes deserving his name ‘The Buddha of Achievement’.
