| **This is part of “Kathin Year 2014” by Wat Petchburi. The temple requires donation to build the Dharma Retreat in the intention of LP Hong. Kathin event is held on Sunday the 2nd November 2014 at Wat Petchburi, Surin Province.
**The statue is well blessed by monks of Wat Petchburi.

Feature: The base is embedded with an amulet, holy stones, a bottle of holy powder, a round container of holy mass and a metal code sheet.
**Power: LP Suang was a sacred monk in Sisaket Province. His story is not common. Thai people believe that worshiping LP Suang will bring plenty, safety and good luck.
LP Suang, a Monk Whom People Call ‘Angel on Earth’:
LP Suang was the most uncommon guru monk in Thai history. He spoke Cambodian.
Nobody knew exactly where he came from and his age was a puzzle. People knew only that they first found LP Suang in the field in Sisaket Province. From inquiring nearly old people, they said they saw LP Suang as an old monk when they were young. But why when they got old, they still saw LP Suang in the same look. Some people assumed that LP Suang was about 500 years old. People looking after LP Suang saw many wonders of him such as puzzling coming and going, holy urine making crops grow well, staying underwater, etc. So, they called LP Suang ‘Angel on Earth’.
LP Suang was a very simple monk. He could live anywhere with one robe. In fact, his shelter was a small shed. Although he did not clean himself, his body did not stink. He did not care about money and stuffs at all. When people gave LP Suang money, he threw it out. That made people amazed at him. People looking after LP Suang loved and respected him very much They believed power of LP Suang could protect them.
LP Suang passed away on the 7th September BE 2543 (CE 2000) and the story of him is still mysterious today.

“Kathin” is a Buddhist festival which comes at the end of Vassa, the three-month rainy season retreat for Theravada Buddhists. The season during which a monastery may hold a 'Kathin' festival is one month long, beginning after the full moon of the eleventh month in the lunar calendar (usually in October). It is a time of giving, for the laity to express gratitude to monks. Lay Buddhists bring donation to temples, especially new robes for the monks.
Results of Doing or Joining Kathin:
The merit of doing Kathin will bring the doer auspiciousness and prosperity. People believe when Kathin or PhaPa doer dies, he or she will go to the heaven and when they are born, they will be in the rich & good family, good-looking and a beloved person of people as well as have a lot of money and properties.
