The history of Wat Phananchueng:
Wat Phananchueng is an old temple before building Krung Sri Ayuthaya. There is no evidence who is builder. According to the legend books say that Phra Jao Sai Nam Phueng is a builder and names that “Wat Jao Phra Nang Chueng.”
In Krung Sri Ayuthaya era, Somdej Phra Narae Suan Maharaj , this temple was fixed once and was rebuilt in many King, especially King RamaV had allowed to rebuilt all at B.E. 2397 and named the Buddha as “Phra Trai Ratanayok”
In the reign of King RamaV, there were fire two times on this temple on B.E.2444 and rebuilt successfully on B.E.2494.
Both Thai and Chinese people pay a lot of respect of this Buddha so much until now.
In the middle of October, there are Tink Gra Jad festival and Namassakarn annually.
