Name: BE2498 Phra Kring Yai Amulet

From: LP Chao Khun Phol, Wat Nang, Bangkok

Year: BE2498 (CE1955)

Material:holy metals

Origin: Thailand

Purpose: to earn donations to develop and restore old permanent objects in temple

Ceremony: LP Phol created and properly blessed this Phra Chaiwat with Chan Ronr amulet following old method that hard to create.

Power: Phra Kring is a famous Buddha amulet in Thailand. Believed to fulfill wishes of prayer, bring wealth, prosperity, progression, safety and peacefulness as well as used to make holy water to cure illness and drive out the inauspicious.

The name “Phra Kring” (Phra = Buddha, Kring = inside metal bead) comes from a metal bead in amulet. The ringing sound is believed to bring good luck.

People believe Phra Kring can cure illness. In the reign of King Rama III, there was the spreading of cholera that killed many Thai people. Somdej Phrawannarat (LP Daeng) abbot of Wat Suthat, Bangkok blessed Phra Kring amulet in the water and gave out water to people. People who drank that water (including LP Daeng) could get over cholera.


Feature: This Buddha Amulet contains a metal bead called "Kring" inside. It is believed as the sound of good luck. Moreover, underneath is filled with "Chan Na Rong", holy lac insect mass for sacredness.

The Biography of LP Chao Khun Phol:

LP Chao Khun Phol was born in Monday 13 August BE2437 (CE1894) at Samutsakorn Province. LP Phol was ordained in 27 March BE2458 at Wat Nang by LP Iam was preceptor. LP Phol studied the magic and meditation from LP Iam for long time. LP Phol passed away on 10 February BE2513 at Chula Hospital.
