‘Phra Kroo’ refers to old amulets kept in the chamber or storage in temple.

History of Phra Kroo of Wat Pho, Bang Pa-In District, Ayutthaya Province:

It is a story that represents the purity of a layman who was committed and strong faith hoping to create a Buddha to inherit Buddhism without caring about others’ words. His charity in the hope to create 84,000 Buddha images in accordance with the Dharma. This resulted in some local phenomenon and amulets at present time.

Ta Nhom is the name of a Chinese man living on the boat along Pak Klong Ban Pho, made a living by sell betel. He had strong faith in Buddhism. Took time off from work to create Buddha amulet in different designs; molding by hand from clay and then baking. When completion, he put those Buddha amulets in small Stupa situated in Wat Pho Bang Pa-In. The man kept making Buddha amulets day after day around 1907 – 1947.

Today has been more than hundred years. When he made a number of Buddha amulets, he usually put it in a small pagoda that neighbors thought him had a mental disorder.

Some adults have seen. It was taken to the original until the time came to 1966 the temple tried to find funds to build a new temple. Dag into the pagoda and found amulets. Then people tied the story related to Somdej Toh of Wat Rakhang that widely promoted amulets by this Chinese man.

Considering the Amulets of Wat Pho Bang Pa-In, this temple is popular for the following reasons:
1. Old age of amulets at affordable price.
2. Pure faith of making.
3. The monks who bless are reputed.
4. The amulet made manifested progress to temple and local.
5. Determined purpose of making to maintain Buddhism.

About LP Parn of Wat Bang Nom Kho, Ayutthaya Province:
Luang Por Parn (well-known as Luang Por Parn Wat Bang Nom Kho) was the successful pioneer of Buddha with animal amulets that have been famous until now. In fact, LP Parn was a past abbot of Wat Bang Nom Kho in Ayutthaya Province. LP Parn was respected by a lot of people. He knew a lot of magical knowledge and traditional medicine. Also, he could help remove black magic from people who got.
LP Parn was born on July 16th, 1875 in Ayutthaya Province. He got ordained at Wat Bang PlaMor on April 1st, 1895. After ordination, he studied magic and intensive meditation with LP Soon at Wat Bang Pla Mor. Then he studied more magic and more intensive meditation with many guru monks such as LP Niam of Wat Noi, LP Nong of Wat Khlong MaDan, etc. LP Parn passed away on July 26th, 1938 at age 63.
