Crocodile in Buddhist Belief:
Crocodile picture appears in Kathin (annual Buddhist merit-making event) referring to a millionaire. Amulets created in crocodile image are believed to bring owner wealth and good business.
In Kathina, crocodile picture refers to the story of a stingy millionaire. Once upon a time, there was a stingy millionaire. He never made merit. He buried money in front of his house near river. He was so stingy that did not tell his wife and son where money was. When he died, his spirit became a crocodile swimming near his money place.
Time passed, river broke soil nearer where money was kept. Millionaire spirit was afraid that money would be lost by water. So, he appeared in his son dream. In the dream, a millionaire told his son that he became a crocodile due to too much worry about money. He told his son to take money he buried to donate to temple for merit. With gratitude, the son took his father money to join Katha event at the temple near river. The son made a crocodile flag as a representative of his father who donated.
Deeply, crocodile image in Kathin would like to teach people to make merit during the lifetime because when we die we cannot take money with us except merit we make.
About Temple:
Wat Huay Chorakhe is a well-known temple in Nakhon Pathom. This temple is famous for Phra Pidta Hu Kratai (Hu Kratai: rabbit ear shape) first created by LP Nark who was the first abbot. This Phra Pidta by LP Nark is very strong in protection and wealth. There is the big Phra Pidta Hu Kratai image at the front of Wat Huay Chorakhe.
About Guru Monk:
Luang Por Man Sujitto (monk name: Sujitto) is a vice – abbot of Wat Huay Chorakhe, Nakhon Pathom. LP Man received magical knowledge from important senior monks of Wat Huay Chorakhe for example LP Nark and LP SaNgiam.
1) Luang Pu Nark (1815 - 1909 C.E) was the first abbot of Wat Huay Chorakhe. He was famous for holy ore Phra Pidta Hu Kratai amulet (Hu Kratai means the shape of rabbit ears) which is excellent in protection and wealth. One interesting thing is that he inscribed Yant (holy characters) on every Phra Pidta amulet. What makes Phra Pidta by LP Nark so different from others is that LP Nark blessed the amulet underwater. Nowadays, Phra Pidta amulets by LP Nark are very rare and expensive.
2) Luang Por SaNgiam (birth: 1949 CE) is an abbot of Wat Huay Chorakhe. He has developed Wat Huay Chorakhe in many ways. He is also a teacher of monks. His amulets are powerful.
In fact, LP Man is a nephew of LP SaNgiam. He is the originator of Phra Jow Sua King Asian amulet which is good in wealth.
**Notes: LP SaNgiam already passed away on 5 September BE 2560 (CE2017). At present, LP Man becomes the abbot after.
